Will your customer accept this declaration?
It is the first question a manufacturer asks before choosing an EPD programme, and it deserves a precise answer rather than a logo. Recognition of an EPD does not come from belonging to an association. It comes from whether every piece of evidence behind the declaration can be traced to an accredited body and checked by the person reading it.
What recognition actually rests on
A declaration is accepted when the buyer, the tendering authority or the building assessor can answer four questions: which standard it follows, where the data came from, who verified it, and where it can be looked up. Every one of these has a documented answer in our programme.
An EPD issued under EPD Polska is prepared to EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025, independently verified, published in English and entered in a public register with a unique identifier. That combination is what building certification schemes and procurement documents ask for, and it is what the wording “third-party verified EPD” in a tender means.
The evidence chain behind the declaration
A declaration is only as good as the evidence under it. We build that evidence from the bottom up and name its origin, so a buyer can check each link instead of taking the certificate on trust.
1. Product testing
Where the declaration relies on measured product characteristics, we use results from an accredited testing laboratory rather than values estimated from sector averages. On request we identify the laboratory and its accreditation for your specific declaration.
Accredited testing laboratory
2. Production data under surveillance
Where the manufacturer holds factory production control certification under Regulation (EU) 305/2011, the production behind the life-cycle inventory is already audited on a continuing basis by a notified body. Such data carries more weight than figures assembled once for the purpose of a declaration, and the verification record says so explicitly.
Notified body under the CPR
3. Management systems
Where quality or environmental management systems support the data, we rely on certificates issued by bodies accredited to ISO/IEC 17021-1, not on self-declared systems.
Accredited certification body
4. Verification of the declaration
The life-cycle assessment and the declaration are verified independently, following ISO 14025 and the impartiality requirements of ISO/IEC 17029. The verifier is never the author of the assessment or of the declaration.

5. Publication
The declaration is published in English with a unique identifier, a validity period and a named verifier, in a register open to anyone without registration or a fee.

Where these declarations are used
Tenders
Procurement documents increasingly ask for an LCA or EPD verified by an independent third party, sometimes with a commitment to deliver one within a set period after award. A declaration prepared to EN 15804+A2 and independently verified answers that requirement directly.
Building assessment
BREEAM, LEED and DGNB accept EPDs on the basis of conformity with EN 15804, and award more credit to declarations covering a specific product than to sector averages.
Supply chains
Retailers, general contractors and investors request declarations from key suppliers, most often in English and with a link that the recipient can open and check.
Regulation
Under Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 environmental characteristics become part of the declared performance of construction products, which moves declarations from marketing into compliance documentation.
What we state precisely
What the declaration confirms
- conformity of the declaration with EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025,
- that the life-cycle data and calculations were checked by an independent verifier,
- the product, the declared unit and the validity period, stated unambiguously,
- entry in a public register that your customer can check without contacting us.
What it does not do
- it does not rank the product as environmentally better or worse than another,
- it does not replace testing or certification required for CE marking,
- it does not remain valid after a change of recipe, supplier or process without reassessment,
- it is not issued by the same people who prepared the underlying assessment.
The last point is the one worth checking with any provider you compare us against. Under ISO 14025 and ISO/IEC 17029 the roles of consultant and verifier have to be separated, and we keep that separation documented for every declaration.
