EPD Portal is a global search of metadata from public EPD registers and databases run by different operators and institutions. Each record links to its source. Operated by Multicert, which also runs EPD Polska. Search and our anonymous API are free to use.

Global EPD search

Search EPD records from international registers and databases in one place, including EPD Poland, and open each declaration at its source. A public JSON API (application programming interface) offers the same search to software.

An EPD is not a marketing claim. It is a standardised, independently verified record of a product's environmental impact across its full life cycle.

The EU Construction Products Regulation and corporate ESG reporting are making verified environmental data mandatory. An EPD — verified against ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 — is the recognised format for delivering it.

This section covers only the EPD Polska programme operated by Multicert. The programme has its own EPD Polska register. Records from other operators and generic datasets in the global index are outside this scope.

EPD Portal is operated by Multicert. It combines public EPD metadata from multiple operators and generic datasets in a free search and API. Multicert also runs the EPD Polska programme, whose declarations appear in a separate register. The portal does not verify or certify external records; data, status and usage terms remain at source.

Some EPD Polska declarations are also published as structured data, so LCA and BIM software can read the results without manual entry.

ILCD+EPD

A European format for digital EPD data. ILCD+EPD datasets for part of the EPD Polska programme are available through the free EPD Portal API.

openEPD in EC3

Building Transparency runs EC3, an international EPD database. Software companies including Autodesk, Bentley and cove.tool use EC3 data through its API. When a manufacturer asks, we publish its declaration in EC3. More than 30 EPD Polska declarations are there today.

Digital product passport: current status

Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 (CPR) introduces a digital product passport for construction products. Article 76 already sets out its core content, including the declaration of performance and conformity and the technical documentation. Under Article 77, passport information must be based on open standards and, as appropriate, be machine-readable and structured. In July 2026, Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1736 referenced the passport standards developed under the Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2024/1781: EN 18216 and EN 18219 to EN 18223. The Commission will set up the passport system for construction products in a delegated act (Article 75(1)) that it has not yet adopted. Until then, the CPR does not say whether the passport will take EPD data in openEPD or ILCD+EPD format.
