Why your buyers ask for an EPD

01

Concrete EPDs need verified aggregate data — an EPD makes your product the preferred upstream input.

02

Green-building schemes and tenders increasingly call for declared environmental performance.

03

Recycled and secondary aggregates can document their lower-impact, circular story with verified data.

Applicable standard

EN 15804+A2:2019+A1:2021, with the applicable product-category rules. Every declaration is independently verified to EN ISO 14025 and published in our public register for five years.

Frequently asked questions

Which standard applies to aggregate EPDs?
Aggregate EPDs are prepared to EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025, applying the relevant product-category rules.
Can recycled aggregates be declared?
Yes. Recycled and secondary aggregates can have EPDs, and their recycled content and avoided-burden data are captured in the declaration.
What data do you need from us?
Primary data for the reference year: extraction or processing energy, water, transport and, for recycled material, the input streams.
